Glynn Williams
Principal Solicitor and Barrister

Glynn was admitted to practice in 1993 after completing his law degree at the University of Tasmania in Hobart after schooling in Ulverstone and Don College. Glynn began his career as a summer clerk with the then firm of Crisp Hudson and Mann before establishing Walsh Day Williams in his home town of Ulverstone in 1998.

Glynn is a lifelong NW Coast resident and also a multi-generation family farmer with many years of service as a member and President of Poppy Growers Tasmania. Glynn has a long record of involvement in public life and is a Life Member of NW Hospice Care, and was a member of the Cradle Coast Authority Board 2008-2016, elected as Chairman in his final term.

Glynn Williams Legal has a client base across the North and North West of Tasmania and provides specialist services and court appearance work in a number of practice areas including family law, local government and town planning law and more recently estate litigation. With a background in property law and assisted by an experienced para legal support team, Glynn Williams Legal supports small business and local families as they invest in businesses and housing across Tasmania.

Cassandra Pickering
Lawyer

Cassie was admitted to practice in 2019 after completing her law degree at Southern Cross University in New South Wales. Prior to this change of career, Cassie is also a qualified hairdresser and dental nurse. Cassie was born and raised in Eugenana, Tasmania going to school at Reece High School and then to St Brendan Shaw College. She left the island in 1999 to relocate to Port Douglas in Queensland. Here Cassie worked predominantly with Queensland Health in Cairns and Mossman including travelling with the Royal Flying Doctors Service to Indigenous Communities in Cape York. Having grew up on a farm in Tasmania, Cassie spent many years in Queensland involved in the cattle industry, with heavy involvement in saleyard processes and Brahman Stud sale committees.

Having always had a desire to work in law, Cassie made the decision to attend University as a mature aged student on a full-time basis, whilst being a mother to two young children and continuing to work on the farm. Toward the end her university degree, Cassie worked as a Paralegal focusing on Wills and Estates and Family Law.  Cassie later returned to Tasmania in 2020 and commenced work with Safe at Home for Tasmania Police as a Prosecutor for three years, then later working briefly for Women’s Legal Services Tasmania. Both of these roles provided invaluable experience to Cassie, predominantly in the area of Family Violence.

Cassie comes to Glynn Williams Legal as an experienced associate with a practical working knowledge of the law that is well suited to our range of practice areas for existing and new clients.

Debbie Biggs
Practice Manager / Conveyancing / Law Clerk

Debbie commenced working in the legal profession around 2005 with Smith & Glover Lawyers, Wynyard. Starting as a receptionist and progressing to conveyancing. In 2007 Richard Ruddle from Kay & Ruddle Lawyers, requested if she could join him in his firm as a conveyancer.

This led to her running his office, completing all administration along with conveyancing for many years, until 2020 when Glynn Williams merged his office with Kay & Ruddle to become Glynn Williams Legal. Debbie commenced as the Practice Manager and over-sees all staff and running of the office, along with administration and conveyancing.

Colleen Ingles
Legal secretary

Colleen has experience as a legal administrative assistant spanning quite a few years. She joined the legal practice of Kay & Ruddle in 2009 and has continued working for Glynn Williams Legal. Colleen assists Glynn Williams in a variety of legal areas, including family law and assisting with other matters.

When not working, Colleen enjoys spending time with her husband and catching up with their 5 children and 4 grandchildren, playing social tennis, camping, bushwalking and family holidays. 

Alison Jones
Conveyancing / Law Clerk

Alison began working in the legal profession as a law clerk in 1985 with the Burnie firm of Crisp Hudson & Mann. Initially trained as a conveyancing clerk she also assisted the commercial partner in business transactions, trusts, estate planning matters, etc. Alison worked for Crisp Hudson & Mann for a total of around 17 years. She also spent 6 years on the mainland during which time she worked for solicitors in Melbourne, a finance company in Cairns and accountants in Sydney.

In 2016 Alison started working for Kay & Ruddle assisting with conveyancing and continued in this role after the firm was purchased in 2020 by Glynn Williams Legal.
